Copper Fit Unisex Hand Relief Compression Gloves
I found these gloves as a replacement for a thin wool liner glove (review on these upcoming) that wore out after heavy use. As mentioned in my previous post, my hands are fragile and I develop blisters quickly even after paddling for only a couple of hours. That being said, I pretty much always wear gloves when paddling, although I’m still working to change this. Another reason I love to wear gloves is because they provide good sun protection as well as prevent blisters.
The reason I started using a liner glove (initially a thin wool liner glove) because in long endurance races I would still blister up pretty badly with my Mustang Survival gloves. And adding a second layer was a game changer! When I found these gloves Hand Relief Compression Gloves by Copper Fit (As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases) they not only became my go-to liner glove for long endurance paddles, but they also became my EDPGs (everyday paddle gloves). They are lightweight (1.4 ounces), breathable, 4-way stretch, and moisture wicking. They cover nearly the full length of the fingers, which I like for sun protection and blister prevention, while still allowing for top notch dexterity when retrieving gear within your PFD or adjusting items on deck or in the cockpit. They sit close to the skin and have compression characteristics to minimize hand swelling on multi-day adventures and races. The fit makes it seem like you’re not wearing gloves at all, because they seem to mold directly to the shape of the hands. The very very low profile grip on the palms and fingers and hand-contouring design makes handling the paddle easy and I’ve never had problems with the gloves slipping or bunching up. For all of these reasons, these gloves have become my EDPGs and over the last 2 years (purchased in 2024) I’ve paddled thousands of miles in them without any signs of wear and tear. 10/10 recommend!
